MacJanitor Privacy Policy

Magpie Studios LLC ("we," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information MacJanitor collects, what we do with it, and what we never touch.

What MacJanitor sends to third parties

When you ask MacJanitor to analyze your disk, the following information is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for contextual analysis:

• File and folder paths (e.g., /Users/you/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari).
• File and folder sizes (in bytes).
• The user-profile string you set in MacJanitor's Settings (used to inform Claude's judgment about what's safe to delete for someone with your workflow).

What MacJanitor NEVER sends

• The contents of any file on your Mac.
• Anything from ~/Documents, ~/Desktop, ~/Downloads, Mail, Messages, Photos, or other personal-content folders.
• System-identifying information beyond what appears in folder paths.
• Your Anthropic API key. (See below.)

API key handling

Your Anthropic API key is stored exclusively in your Mac's Keychain. It is never transmitted to Magpie Studios servers (we have none), never written to disk in plain text, never logged, and never sent anywhere except directly to api.anthropic.com when you initiate an analysis. You can revoke or change the key at any time via MacJanitor → Settings.

Telemetry, analytics, and tracking

None. MacJanitor has no server-side component. We do not collect crash reports, usage analytics, performance metrics, or behavioral data of any kind. The app's only outbound network traffic goes to Anthropic's API when you ask it to analyze your disk.

Anthropic's privacy practices

Because MacJanitor sends data directly to Anthropic's API, Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how that data is handled on their side. We encourage you to review it at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Payment processing

Purchases of MacJanitor are processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. Your payment information (credit card, billing address, email) is collected and stored by Lemon Squeezy under their privacy policy at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy. Magpie Studios receives only your email (for sending the download link) and the country code from your billing address (for tax reporting). We do not see, store, or have access to your payment card details.

Refund policy

MacJanitor offers a 14-day refund window. If the app does not work for you on a supported macOS version, contact support@magpiestudios.app within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, no questions asked.

Children

MacJanitor is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced via the download page at magpiestudios.app. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
